You cook, clean, feed, run errands, handle tantrums and manage chaos. All by yourself. Every. Single. Day. You are tired. You are exhausted. But you are still here. Still present. Still trying. That makes you strong Mama, even when you feel like you are falling to pieces.
When was the last time you reminded yourself that you are doing better than you think? If it’s been a while, it’s time to do some self-care. Affirmations can help with this.
Affirmations are words that validate your feelings and uplift you without requiring extra time or energy. They are positive intentional thoughts that allow us to speak kindness to ourselves — even when the world forgets to. Affirmations are gentle self-care tools that every single mom needs in her self-care toolkit.
In this post, I will give you 25 affirmations for single moms who are tired but trying. These affirmations feel real, not fluffy — and support even the most drained mom. Stay till the end for a FREE downloadable PDF of “15 Affirmation Cards for Single Moms Who Are Tired But Trying”.
Why Affirmations Matter for Tired Single Moms
We’re single mothers of toddlers and we carry a lot of stress. For those of us with little to no assistance at home, the physical and emotional toll of single parenting is even greater. Chronic fatigue and stress can negatively affect self-worth and emotional wellbeing. Our exhaustion can make us feel badly about ourselves and make us think things that just aren’t true.

Affirmations help to reframe our thoughts. The positive and intentional words help us to build inner strength, even when we’re running on empty. Why? Because words have power. Negative words affect us negatively. Positive words affect us positively. If you surround yourself with positivity, you will most certainly feel better.
Now, I’m not talking about toxic positivity. Affirmations aren’t about that. Affirmations are about truth, comfort and survival. They help us feel valued and give us strength to deal with the struggles of single motherhood: isolation, guilt, burnout, decision fatigue. Can you relate, Mama?
Reading or repeating affirmations (internally or out loud), can become a grounding morning or bedtime ritual. You can also read them at any time during the day for a reminder of your self-worth.
